5 Ways to to be Kind to Yourself and Our Planet

“I believe in giving kindness, regardless of how unreasonable and self-centered a person is. Kindness is a gift of sanctity for a person. It has the goal of making the soul smile.”― Lionel Suggs

We can choose to respond with kindness to these unpleasant ideas and feelings at any time, kindness that extends to ourselves, others, and the planetary home we share.

Here are five ways to soothe that ache and choose kindness for yourself and the planet-

Recognize your emotions: Identify your feelings, are you feeling anxious? Sad? Angry? It helps us to validate those feelings without becoming paralysed by them. We don’t know what is coming next, but sometimes the finest and most courageous thing we can do is put one foot in front of the other and keep breathing and do mindfulness activities through it all.

Focus on small things: Making a list of the things you enjoy is one approach to get started. Concentrate on small pleasures that make you smile or allow you to relax. Like planting a small flower (check out our planter here). It's the simple things that allow us to escape negative thoughts and come back to a peaceful moment.

Celebrate your growth: At times we fail to appreciate ourselves. We should not easily forget to pat ourselves on how far we've come. Mental, emotional, and spiritual development do not happen automatically. They need effort and patience, and they are well worth appreciating. Why not start with us? Take a pick from our collection.

Unhook yourself from the worry cycle: “Our brain sometimes has a hard time staying grounded in the present,” writes Sebene Selassie. This meditation practice may help us connect to our body and planet, increasing our capacity to be present with love and care.

Appreciate the good and growing things in our environment: We can acknowledge the devastation of our natural environment while continuing to open our hearts to the nature we genuinely adore, no matter how tough it may feel..

The sense of awe we experience when we're in the presence of nature can help us to be happier and healthier. To boost your cheerfulness, find a better balance in your day by performing acts of kindness.
